Adding New Speakers to the Directory

Adding New Speakers to the Directory

When you launch your directory, there will probably be at least a few speakers you want listed who do not already have an eSpeakers profile. There are three ways that you can add new speakers to your directory.

1. Encourage speakers to create and maintain their own profile (best option)

Nobody knows each speaker's marketing information better than the speaker themselves. Your staff avoids the load of keeping hundreds (or thousands) of profiles updated when the speakers each maintain their own.

Call eSpeakers to receive a unique promotion that you can give to your speakers. When they use the promotion code to buy an eSpeakers Basic profile, the cost will be reduced to $0, forever. This service normally sells for $179 per year, so this becomes a bonus value that you're offering to your speakers.

2. Create a "sponsored" profile on behalf of a speaker

If you have a speaker who will not, for some reason, maintain their own profile (common with celebrities), you can create a "sponsored" profile for them. There is no charge to you, but by creating a sponsored profile you are committing to keep it updated for its lifetime.

To create a sponsored profile:

  1. Sign in to eSpeakers and choose DIRECTORY MANAGEMENT
  2. On the directory management dashboard, choose YOUR DIRECTORY
  3. Choose SPONSOR A PROFILE from the buttons along the left
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the sponsored profile

3. Mass import of sponsored speakers

In some very rare cases, you may have hundreds of speakers who will not respond to your invitation to maintain their own free profile. In this case, you're forced to take responsibility for creating and maintaining many sponsored profiles.

eSpeakers offers an import service in some cases. Please contact us to find out if your situation fits the need. The import process requires individual time from our development staff, and so we charge separately for this service.

The process generally involves you, the directory publisher, sending a CSV or Excel spreadsheet with one row per speaker. The field names, as listed below, show occupy the first row in the file. The fields include:

member_id, last_name, first_name, middle_name, credentials, suffix, member_type, company_name, url, abstract, address_1, address_2, city, state, zip, country, email_address, phone_number, fax_number, bio, expertise, photo_url

The SAMPLE FILE attached to this article demonstrates the fields. Once your file is prepared, email it to the support department for processing. Please make sure you've contact us first for pricing and eligibility, as this service is rarely required.

Of these fields, following are required:

member_id, last_name, first_name, address_1, city, state, zip, country, email_address, phone_number
