How to put your eSpeakers profile on NSA Directory and your NSA Chapter Directory

Like many other countries, the National Speakers Association of the US powers their member directory with eSpeakers technology. If you are a member of the NSA (US), don't miss out on a valuable opportunity to promote yourself through the directory on the NSA website. The same is true for most of the local chapter websites for the NSA, which each have their own directory.

Which directories your profile will appear on depends on your NSA membership type.  If you are a:
  1. member of the national association but not a chapter, you can be listed in the national directory (only)
  2. member of a local chapter but not national, you can be listed in the local chapter directory (only)
  3. member of the national association and a local chapter, you can be listed in both directories


Get an eSpeakers Account

If you don't already have an eSpeakers account, the national association and most chapters provide a free Basic account for you.
If you already have an eSpeakers account, you should not create a second one -- your existing account will be added to the right directories when you follow the directions below.
To claim your free Basic profile as a member benefit of the association:
  1. If you are a member at the national level, the NSA will create your account for you automatically. You will receive an email from eSpeakers when this happens. You don't need to do anything. Allow up to 72 hours from joining NSA national for this to happen.
  2. If you are a member of a chapter only (and not also a national member), your participating chapter can provide you with a link to claim your free profile.
Once you have an eSpeakers account, you can be added to assocition directories.

Add yourself to the national directory

If you are a national member, you do not need to do anything. Your profile will be added to the national directory automatically.


Add yourself to your chapter directory

If your chapter is a participating chapter, you will need to identify your chapter on your profile. Once you do that, your profile will be automatically added to your chapter directory (allow 48 hours for this to happen).

To identify your NSA chapter membership:
  1. Sign in to eSpeakers
  2. Click MY PROFILE from the menu on the left side
  3. Click the AWARDS & MEMBERSHIPS card
If you are a chapter-only member and do not see "NSA - United States" already in your list of active associations, you will need to add yourself as a chapter-only member first. Only do this if you are not a national member and do not already see "NSA - United States" in your active associations.
  1. Click the dropdown list labeled SELECT AN ASSOCIATION and choose "NSA - United States".
  2. Click the dropdown list labeled SELECT MEMBERSHIP TYPE and choose "Chapter-only"
  3. Click the blue + button to save the change.
Once you have "NSA - United States" active in "MY MEMBERSHIPS", select your chapter:
  1. Click the dropdown list labeled IAM NOT A MEMBER OF A LOCAL CHAPTER and select your local chapter from the list. If your chapter isn't listed, contact your leadership and encourage them to get with the program!
  2. Click the + button on the right to save your change.
All done! Allow up to 48 hours for your profile to appear on your chapter directory.


Ensure your permissions allow you to be listed

Your eSpeakers publicity preferences control where your profile information is shared. Make sure you are permitting associations to include you:
  1. Sign in to eSpeakers
  2. Click MY MARKETING from the menu on the left side to expand the menu and then choose PUBLICITY SETTINGS.
  3. In the list of permissions, find "PROFILE | Include me in directories on associations and chapters" and make sure the box is checked.
