Managing the Speakers on My Association or chapter Directory

Managing the Speakers on My Association or chapter Directory

Many of the National Associations of Speakers around the world, and their chapters, power the directory on their website with eSpeakers.

This article is written for the person who manages the speaker directory (often the director of membership).

How do I add a speaker directory to my association website?

Adding a robust speaker directory to your association website typically takes just a few minutes because it is a simple HTML link.

Send your webmaster to this page for directions.

How do I control what speakers appear on my directory?

SEARCHFOR
Every speaker on your directory must have an eSpeakers profile. eSpeakers often partners with national associations to arrange low-or-no-cost basic accounts for their members.

Your association directory lists hundreds or thousands of speakers. How do you control who is included? How do you add new members or remove someone who is no longer a member?

It's mostly automatic.

Speakers are automatically added and removed from your website directory based on whether they have association membership marked on their profile.
  • When a speaker marks their eSpeakers profile as being a member of your association, they are automatically added to your directory (within 24 hours).
  • When a speaker changes their profile to remove association membership, they are automatically removed from your directory (within 24 hours).

Fully manual is an option.

Association directories run in 'auto' mode, which is described above and includes/excludes speakers based on their membership in your association.

You can also request fully manual mode, in which an association staff or leader adds and removes names manually from the directory. Whether or not a speaker has indicated chapter membership on their profile has no effect.

If your directory is in "manual" mode, you can add or remove members anytime.

To switch your chapter directory between auto and manual modes, contact eSpeakers.

What username and password do I sign in with to manage my directory?

Your association staff should have a username and password issued by eSpeakers.

If need to recover it, please contact eSpeakers

How can I keep tabs on which eSpeakers members are identifying as association members?

Speakers are free to mark their profile as members of your association, or to remove that membership from their profile.

As a way to make sure that only actual, current members identify as association members on their eSpeakers profile, eSpeakers can send an automated email to your association staff whenever a speaker alters their profile re: your association.

To be set up for this notification, contact eSpeakers.
